In 1987, an academic exchange agreement was signed between the Department of Textile Industries, at the University of Leeds, UK and the School of Fibre Science and Technology/Department of Textile Technology, UNSW. The agreement involves exchanges of undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as academic staff, between the two universities.
During the 1994/1995 British academic year, four of our undergraduate textile students, Michelle Harrison, Michellle Sahar (Textile Technology), Susan Cao and Alison Smith (Textile Management), studied at Leeds University gaining excellent academic results. For the 1995/1996 British academic year, one student, Michelle Doherty (Textile Management), will be studying at Leeds University. Michelle was awarded an International Wool Secretariat travel scholarship to help her with her return travel expenses to England.
Leeds University textile management undergraduate, Amy Pearson and Kate Moore completed two semesters of their respective courses in our School during 1994/1995 period. Margaret Eagleton, is currently studying with the Department of Textile Technology, UNSW for 1995/1996.
In 1995 the School formalised an academic exchange agreement between the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Industries Textiles (ENSITM), Universite de Haute Alsace, Mulhouse, France and the School of Fibre Science and Technology, University of New South Wales. The agreement involves the exchange of undergraduate and postgraduate research students between the two universities.
